Sleeping Lady Chocolate Tomato Start
Dwarf tomatoes grow well either in containers or in the ground.
This cultivar won a very close second place in our family’s dwarf tomato taste test. They are mid-sized tomatoes with a deep brown skin and maroon interior. These tomatoes taste as intense as they look. Plus, who wouldn’t love a tomato with the word “chocolate” in its name? For a show stopping summer potluck dish, slice up Sean’s Yellow Dwarf, Rosella Purple, and Sleeping Lady Chocolate tomatoes together with fresh Mozzarella and Basil and make a dramatic Caprese Salad.
Tomatoes plants MUST be protected from frost. In Ellensburg, I wait until June 1 to plant out any tomato plants (after hardening them off), and have frost blankets ready if it looks like nighttime temperatures will dip. Sleeping Lady Chocolate Dwarf can start producing 85 days after being planted out.
