Amish Paste Tomato Start
Join us in trying Amish Paste tomatoes for the first time this year. Amish Paste is said to be a prolific producer and has won taste tests on several gardening blogs. Fruits are medium sized, thick walled, and contain very few seeds. People grow Amish Paste both for canning and for raw eating.
Tomatoes plants MUST be protected from frost. In Ellensburg, I wait until June 1 to plant out any tomato plants (after hardening them off), and have frost blankets ready if it looks like nighttime temperatures will dip. Amish Paste can start producing 75-84 days after being planted out.
